Game 1: Exmouth 15 - 50 Okehampton

Game 2: Exmouth 25 - 45 Okehampton

Having had a break due to some of the recent inclement weather conditions, Exmouth Cockles under 8’s squad travelled to Okehampton at the weekend for their final fixtures of 2009.

In the first game a strong Okehampton side beat Exmouth convincingly by 10 tries to 3. The Okehampton side dominated Exmouth by fast running and extremely good defensive play. Despite persistent surges forward by Exmouth, Okehampton were able to hold their defensive line well and were very well disciplined.

Try scorers for Exmouth were Max Handford, Steward Masters and Ollie Jones. Great support play was provided by Owen Tidball who continually charged forward against Okehampton.

The second game was a much closer affair after Exmouth had got used to the freezing conditions. Exmouth held a much better defensive line during this game and allowed Okehampton little freedom to move. Harry Sprague and Owen Tidball played well for Exmouth by running directly forward through the Okehampton defence. A superb try was scored by Arron Lee who charged through the Okehampton line and was unstoppable.

The game finally finished Okehampton 9 tries Exmouth 5. Try scorers for Exmouth were Thomas Preece, Arron Lee, Stewart Masters, Owen Tidball, and Ollie Jones.

The Exmouth side and their coaches now take a well – earned break over the Christmas period, which will allow both players and coaches to rest and recharge their batteries!!
