Torquay 5 - 5 Exmouth
Exmouth 2nd fifteen travelled to Torquay on Saturday with the knowledge that Tics had already beaten them at home earlier in the season, however from the first kick of the ball Torquay were under no illusions that Exmouth were well and truly up for the clash of 1st and 2nd place in the merit table.
Exmouth scored within the first 2 minutes as Richard Sharpe crossed the line from a well taken line out on Tics 5 metre line a catch and drive saw Exmouth surge over the Torquay line, conv missed.
Torquay applied pressure from the restart but failed to convert territory and possession into points when a penalty was awarded and missed.
The 22 metre restart saw the tables turned with Exmouth applying constant pressure on Torquay which resulted in them being awarded a penalty this was missed and Exmouth went in at the break leading 5 nil.
Both sides came out for the second half and the game continued to follow the same pattern, Exmouth defence held solid up until 25 mins into the second half when they finally succumbed to Torquay who crossed the line to score, not converted.
Torquay continued to try and cross Exmouth's line but this Exmouth side held a solid defence and the game finished 5-5.
