Exmouth 1st XV 33 - 7 Exmouth 2nd XV

With both the 1st XV and 2nd XV games cancelled, it was decided that instead of a training session, the teams would play each other and what an entertaining afternoon of competitive rugby this was.

With the Club Coaches and the Rugby Manager able to watch some 40 players in a game situation, it was decided that the afternoon would be split into 4 x 20 minute sessions, with several players changing from their usual playing positions, and some players even playing for both teams !

In the first quarter, Ed Baxter scored an unconverted try after 10 minutes and Barney Pasqual scored just before the whistle with Rich Cadywould converting giving the 1st XV a 12 – 0 lead.

The second quarter saw no score for either side.

In the third quarter Graham Smith scored 2 tries for the 1st XV, Cadywould converting both, increasing the lead to 26 – 0

In the final quarter, Neil Hooper scored for the 2nd XV and kicked his own conversion and just before the final whistle, brother Garry Hooper scored for the 1st XV, Cadywould converting which gave the 1st XV a 33 – 5 victory.

The game was refereed in the true spirit of the game by James Grant.
